Where does UK go from here?

After thinking we had him locked up, James Blackmon Jr did the inevitable and re-committed to Indiana. No one knows exactly for sure why, but there are rumors Tom Crean visited James Blackmon Jr the morning of his announcement and offered his brother a scholarship. When Crean showed up late to his Media Day meeting, the rumors went swirling. The first switch to Indiana on the Crystal Ball was an Indiana insider, N.D. Kendrick. There were also sayings that Indiana leaked the information, causing everyone to switch.

So the question is, where does Coach John Calipari go from here? Does he go back to recruiting Rashad Vaughn? Or does he go to a JUCO player such as Torian Graham? Torian had some issues coming out of HS, but JUCO seems to have had some impact on him in a great way. Another name to lookout for is Jonah Bolden. He’s a 6’8 SF out of Findlay Prep who has interest from Arizona, Baylor, Auburn and other schools.

Nobody is feeling sorry for us. Yesterday we locked up the #3 SG in the 2014 class, Devin Booker. Booker and Blackmon are arguably the best shooters in the class. Cal’s still working on the #3 rated prospect in the class, Stanley Johnson; whom some think is a very heavy Arizona lean. He isn’t signing until the Spring so there’s a lot of time for Coach Cal to sway him off of the West Coast. Another familiar name is Trey Lyles. He’s down to Kentucky and Louisville and is rumored to be all UK. He’s predicted to announce in the next couple weeks so look out.

If we’ve learned anything from this 2014 class, its to never think you know exactly where a kid is going. But if anyone can get it done, its Coach John Calipari.
