Name: Russell Ude

C/O: 2015

Position: Defensive End

Height: 6’4

Weight: 245 lbs

High School: Westminster School (Ga)

Offers: Boston College

Prospect Overview: Ude is an up and coming prospect from the Atlanta area that has begun to generate solid interest because of his size, strength and potential along the defensive line. Ude plays amongst several Division 1 players on his high school team but could have the brightest future of all Westminster School prospects. Still growing into his body, Ude already sports the physical frame and muscle mass needed to compete on the BCS level. He is a force off the edge that does good at getting his hands into his opponents quickly and finding a way to get to the quarterback before he is able to release the ball. Ude has a high motor that never stops. He has the ability to use his athleticism to beat the offensive tackle or just bull rush him with his natural power.

Run stuffing is also a strength for Ude as he has quick reactions to the ball and goes after the RB in a hurry. He understands being discipline on the line and knows how to read the quarterback. Ude is an intelligent young man that is coachable and listens to details very well. The weight room and practice field are two places Ude spends a lot of his time. He knows that he has to continue to work hard every day to become the best player he can be. There is still a ways to go until Ude reaches his maximum potential. He needs to continue to learn more pass rush moves as well as continue to get stronger in his lower body. Once he matures and fills out his frame, Ude could become an unstoppable force that plays on the highest level of college football.

Recruiting has really picked up this spring as several college coaches have made their way to Westminster School to check out Ude and get a better feel for him. Boston College is Ude’s lone offer up to this point but schools like Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi St, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC, NC State and Virginia have shown a lot of interest and could become the next official offer.

Ude plans to hit the camp circuit this offseason with plan to prove that he is one of the best defensive end prospects not only in the state of Georgia but the entire southeast region. This 2015 recruit has the tools and smarts to become an elite prospect down the road. Ude is starting to reach the tip of his potential and after a summer of competing against some of the best competition in the country he could easily see his stock rise and his recruitment explode.
