Under The Radar: 2015 LB/DE, Darrian Scott Spotlight

Darrian Scott (6’0, 220, 4.9/40) grew up in New Orleans, LA, but moved to Bowling Green, KY to get a better education and live a life free from violence. His mother, Monique Scott, wanted a better life for Darrian. Unfortunately, Monique Scott passed away in April 2013, so Darrian dedicated his 2013 season to honor his mom. Playing under adversity, Scott recorded 64 total tackles in 14 games with 45 of them being solo. He added a team leading 7 sacks and recovered 1 fumble.

Darrian was rated the #2 rated Defensive End in the state of Kentucky since he became cleared to play this year. He was forced to sit out his Sophomore year, because he transferred schools. He ranked #2 in all of Class 5A in total tackles averaging 4.4 tackles per game.

Scott loves the big stage and he proved it by recording 2 sacks in the KHSAA Class 5A State Championship Game against Pulaski County. The Purples defeated Pulaski County, 49-14 to finish the 3-peat and win their 44th consecutive game.

Scott benches 225, squats 475, power cleans 240 and has a 32″ vertical.

Scott is very quick off the line at the snap. He has a non-stop motor. He constantly disrupts the QB. He is real good with his hands and gets off blocks well. He still needs to improve his footwork, get stronger, and learn to use his hands more.
