Under The Radar 2014: Houston County WR/DB, Brensten Lindsey Spotlight

Every year players fly under the radar for one reason or another. This year, WR, Brensten Lindsey (6’3,180, 4.59/40) falls in that category. Class 5A Houston County HS in Warner Robins, Georgia hired a whole new coaching staff and Lindsey had to learn a new offense. The Bears, under new Head Coach Von Lassiter, ran Oregon University’s offense, so they spread the football around to many players. Despite spreading the wealth, Lindsey totaled 25 receptions for 344 yards (13.8 ypc) and 2 TD’s. Those numbers were good enough for Lindsey to be named All-Region in Class 5A in Georgia.

Check out Brensten Lindsey’s Highlights Below:

Coach Lassiter told Varsity Preps, “Brensten has excellent hand and is a great route runner. He is a deep threat every play. He is a hard worker with a great release off the line of scrimmage, and is the best possession receiver on the team. He needs to work on his top end speed and add some weight to his long frame.”

Coach Lassiter added, “Brensten is very respectful, easy to coach and really would have had better stats, but he had to divide his time by playing DB. He split reps every practice and that took away from him excelling more as a WR. He exemplified the definition of a team player.”

Lindsey benches 255, squats 315, power cleans 260, and has a 36″ vertical
