Sr. LB TJ Ellison Getting More Interest

2014 LB TomTJEllison (6’0, 210, 4.65) of Ft. Lauderdale High has recorded 67 tackles, three sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and two receiving touchdowns.

Ellison informed Varsity Preps that he’s receiving interest from FIU and South Alabama.

“The coaches at FIU tell me to keep playing hard, working hard, and that they’re looking at me.

“At South Alabama, I haven’t talked with the coaches a whole lot, but they’ve told me about their program and what they can offer.”

The talented senior linebacker also reports that Kennesaw St. is sending him recruiting mail and they’ve been in touch with his head coach, Richard Dunbar.

Ellison said playing alongside Jaboree Williams, a Wake Forest verbal commit, has taught him to be a better linebacker.

“I feel like I’ve improved a lot. I’ve gotten better with my reads, coverage skills, and I feel like I move better from sideline to sideline,” Ellison shared. “Over the offseason, we pushed each other in practice and in the weight room, so we helped each other get better.”

Coach Dunbar on Ellison: “He allows us to do different things with our defense. We can move Ellison inside and move Jaboree outside. He can play the middle and if we even want to play him at rush end, we can move him there, too. He’s very similar to Jaboree with his versatility.”
