ROBERT JONES C/O 2014 QB Prospect

This time of year, quarterbacks from all across the country are looking harder at schools then just about any other position.  Quarterbacks are a rare breed in the sense that they look to be leaders from day one.  Most quarterbacks would like to be committed early so they can help recruit top notch athletes around them to finish off the class in style.

Valley High School (Louisville, KY) 2014 quarterback Robert Jones is one of those types of athletes.  The talented dual threat athlete is a natural born leader and the type of quarterback that can change a game in a split second.  Now with his senior season right around the corner and recruiting taking center stage, Jones is looking to show the world he is a big time athlete.

Jones feels like he can only get better with hard work and dedication.  He has been working on his game this entire off season and knows that hard work will pay off.

“I have been working every week with my trainer to get better,” said Jones.  “A lot of the colleges coaches looking at me want to see me get better as a drop back passer.  I have been working on my drops and my footwork.  I have also been working on mechanics as well.  I have also watched a bunch of my film from last season and worked on reading the defenses better.  I watch a ton of game film right now.”

Several schools have noticed the talent that Jones possesses.   He is looking at all those schools equally in an attempt to find the right fit.

“I am looking at Western Kentucky, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Louisville, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Purdue,” he said.  “I really want to get an offer soon and shut it down this spring or early summer.  I am a December graduate and need to have my home figured out before school starts.

Mississippi State invited me down for junior day and their spring practices.  They said they would really like for us to come for the spring game and see what I think of the school.  I am for sure coming down in the spring or the summer.  This past year, Mississippi State really stood out to me.  I love the offense that they run down there.  I love the coaches and i love how they proved they could play with the big boys last year.”
