Robert Castaneda C/O 2014 “Around the Rock”
- Updated: March 19, 2013

Round Rock High School OT Robert Castaneda, Varsity Prep’s No. 16 prospect in the VP Under The Radar list, recently committed to Kansas State.
Castaneda, (6’6, 310) is an All-District player in Austin, Texas, chose the Wildcats over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
“The coaches showed they cared for my future a lot. They were my first offer and have one of the best coaches in the game. The staff also mentioned early playing time and they care not only for me, but my family.”
Castaneda became K-State’s 3rd commitment and the second offensive lineman to commit to the Wildcats. “I think early playing time was a big deal for me, so when I chose a school, I wanted to choose one that didn’t have me buried on the depth chart.”
He still plans on taking all of his official visits, but he’s firm with his commitment to Kansas State. “They show me a lot of love and I like the way their program is run.”
After a good showing at the Nike SPARQ combine, Castaneda caught the attention of UTSA, Utah, Missouri, Baylor and Oklahoma. His recruitment will continue to grow after the strong performance at the Rivals Under Armour Camp.
