New UK Offer: 2015 OH ILB Chris Green

2015 ILB Chris Green (6’1 , 225, 4.9/40) plays at Toledo Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, and currently holds three offers from Kentucky, Bowling Green, and Toledo. He is garnering interest from Ohio State, Penn State, Ball State, Michigan State, Tennessee, Akron, and Boston College.

Over the summer, Green camped at two programs in the Big Ten Conference: Ohio State and Michigan. He talked about what stood out about each program.

Michigan: “I went to a four-day camp and came away impressed. I was excited when I arrived on Michigan’s campus. The coaches knew who I was before I thought they would. Overall a great visit.”

Ohio State: “I really didn’t get a lot of feedback from there. Only coach that talked to me was Coach Fickell.”

Green told Varsity Preps he was excited about receiving his third offer from Kentucky. “I was surprised on getting an offer from UK, but when I calmed down and let it soak in, I was happy. I feel blessed and know my hard work is paying off.”

He explained what the Kentucky coaches are telling him. “They’re saying I’m a beast, talk about how I would fit in their defensive scheme. I’m being utilized on defense near the line of scrimmage and blitzing either in the middle or outside. I usually don’t cover man-to-man much, but at the two camps I was taught man coverage.”

The junior standout talked about what he is seeking from a college program. “I’m looking at how the defensive scheme uses their linebackers and if they’re being used more in coverage or blitzing the QB.”

Green shared what he thinks makes him an attractive prospect to programs that are recruiting him. “I’m a leader and an intense player on the field.”

The talented inside linebacker wants to elevate his game and become more of an impact player. “I’m hitting the weight room hard because I feel I need to get bigger and stronger.”

He has no frontrunners and is no hurry to make a decision.
