Meet 2015 MO RB Alec Murphy

2015 RB Alec Murphy ( 6’1, 215, 4.4/40) of Nixa High School currently holds no offers. He is receiving interest from Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Northwestern. He did say he would be interested in Kentucky if the staff started recruiting him.

The Nixa High RB had camped at Mississippi State Big Dawg Camp recently. Murphy went in-depth on his experience at Mississippi State camp. “We did our tests then toured the campus, sat in a meeting with the coaches, went to the practice field to do drills, then went to the game field for individuals and one-on-one drills,” he said. “I performed well at the camp, had some great catches. I think I impressed the coaches, but left with no offer.”

Murphy will take a visit to Missouri on August 3rd.

He talked about what he’s seeking in a college program. “I’m looking for good campus life and academics. Inside a program, I want solid graduation rates, student-athlete programs, and energy. I like hyper-positive energy.”

Murphy explained what makes him an attractive prospect to programs that are recruiting him. “I’m a strong outside running back who doesn’t go down easy and can run through defenders trying to tackle me. I consider myself a power running back with two gears, fast and faster.”

The junior running back wants to elevate his game and become more of an impact player. “I’m working on becoming a better blocker and becoming an all-purpose back where I can be used in the passing game, not just the running game.”

He has no frontrunners and he’ll make his college decision towards the end of his senior year.
