McTelvin Agim Justifies “Opening” Invite

The top player in the state of Arkansas was in action this past weekend in Beaverton, Oregon for the premier, preseason high school football combine in the country. The Opening. McTelvin Agim the undisputed top player in Arkansas and one of the top players in all of the country proved just why he has these monikers. From the first day of testing to the final announcements, Agim’s name was among the top names mentioned.

Agim is not just a skilled defensive end that terrorizes opposing quarterbacks, but he is also an elite athlete. In the last several years, the new standard for rating how great of a pure athlete is the SPARQ system, which was created by the braintrust over at Nike. Agim came in with the 7th best score of all defensive lineman. His score also put him in the top half of all the athletes that made the trip to Oregon.

Combine drills are what they are though. They’re just drills. They can show some things but the true results show when it comes to actual, live contact, football drills. Agim, again, had no problem showing that he was worth the time spent at the Nike Complex.

In one-on-one competition against some of the top offensive linemen in the country, Agim won over 85 percent of his trench wars. Of those that Agim beat included 2016 five star Gregory Little, 2016 four star Austin Myers, and top 2016 three stars Sean Pollard and Taleni Suhren. Agim also had the opportunity to take on 2017 four stars Jack Anderson and Trey Smith. Against the younger prospects, Agim finished 3-1.

Amongst all of the outstanding numbers that Agim put up, the part that scouts and coaches will take away from this year’s Opening will be Agim being named one of the top five overall defensive linemen for the entire camp. Joining Agim in that honor are number one overall player in the 2016 class, Rashan Gary, four stars Jonathon Cooper and Erick Fowler, and top three star defensive tackle, Raekwon Davis.

Agim was the only strong-side defensive end in that list. That says plenty.

Agim’s final four schools include Arkansas, Baylor, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
