Over the years, the State of Mississippi has been responsible for producing many talented offensive linemen. The offensive and defensive lines are where championships are built and the evaluation of recruits that can fill those spots start early in the sophomore year. Matt Womack, out of Hernando, MS, has been someone that has stuck out on film over the past two years. Womack started to attract attention a year ago by being named to a pre-season all Mississippi team as the only junior on the team.

Matt Womack is one young man that is outstanding in his blocking ability for the running game. Scholarship offers have already started for Womack with Arkansas State, the University of Alabama Birmingham, and Southern Miss being among the first to make offers. However, many other schools including, traditional SEC powers such as Auburn, Ole Miss, and Arkansas, are evaluating Womack as the camps and unofficial visit periods start up. Womack has the potential to be a dominant offensive lineman during his senior season and in the future at whatever college program that he chooses.

Matt has over 30 schools that are interested in him and have been that evaluating him in terms of potentially offering him a scholarship. Three schools have already made an offer with Southern Miss joining the mix. Womack does not have a favorite school at this point, with it being still early in the recruiting process but he does plan on taking visits to get to know various schools. Womack’s recruitment will easily run through the season and I would say the SEC schools may have the best shot of adding him to the mix. Barring injury, he will be one of the top rated players in the state of Mississippi and possibly the country so keep an eye on this young man throughout the upcoming high school football season.
