Kosnitzky Korner: Plantation American Heritage Offers No Chance for Jacksonville Bolles

It was Homecoming Night in Plantation.  Jacksonville Bolles had no chance.  This was evident from the first play from scrimmage. Isaiah McKenzie would score on an 80 yard touchdown run which looked more designed to spread the defense than necessarily put points on the board.  Two minutes later, Sony Michel would lead the Patriots with a 41 yard touchdown run and it quickly seemed that the school from Duval County would have a very difficult night.

In the next four minutes, Torrance Gibson would throw a 68 yard touchdown pass to Dallas Perez and a 55 yard touchdown pass to Sony Michel which quickly turned the first quarter into a 28-0 route.  To add to the Bulldogs misery, Gibson would end the quarter with a 68 yard touchdown run.  In the second quarter, Sony Michel would scamper for a 55 yard touchdown, leading Plantation American Heritage (6-1) to a 60-21 route over Jacksonville Bolles (4-2).  In fact, the only time Michel was stopped occurred when he was announced at halftime as part of the school’s homecoming court.

Patriots had lost five consecutive times to the Bulldogs, including last year.  However, it seemed that the team from the First Coast paled in comparison from the team that went to the state finals last year. While quarterback Joe Edden and players such as Tyrell Moorer and Dexter Carter Jr. would help the offense for the Jacksonville team, their team had no chance.
