Kobie Walker Commits To Kentucky

2014 S Kobie Walker has committed to the University of Kentucky. Walker is listed as a 3 Star Safety out of Maryland, but reports say that Walker was recruited as an Outside Linebacker by Coach Stoops and the rest of the Kentucky Staff. Walker fits the mold of an athletic OLB, having a large frame with gifted speed, and should be an instant impact under Stoops, who has coached several players to success in the same position at FSU. Kobie chose the Wildcats over several big offers like Miami (Fl), Oklahoma State, and Wisconsin. Walker had great relationships with the Kentucky Staff, specifically WR Coach Tommy Mainord, and felt the most comfort with the program. Walker visited for the Spring Game on April 13, and was confident enough to name UK his leader right after the game. That confidence in the program has since carried over to an official announcement to commit. This is the 7th commit for Coach Stoops, who already has big time commits from players like Drew Barker, Thaddeus Snodgrass, Mikel Horton, and Darryl Long, among others. Congratulations to Kobie, and hopefully he will have great success at the next level for years to come.
