Kentucky’s in the mix…..

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with a high profile recruit named Malik Newman. There’s been a lot of speculation lately about whether or not he may decide to reclassify. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

A 6’4, 175 CG/SG in the class of  2015 that will take over the game completely to ensure his team gets that W. The #1 player in 2015 is from down in Jackson, Mississippi at Callaway High School .

He has offers from some big named schools including: Kentucky, Duke, N.C. State, North Carolina, Baylor, Louisville, MSU,  Kansas, Arkansas and Alabama.

He hasn’t taken any visits yet or does he have any planned. He has quite some time before he has to start getting down to the nit and grit though, so no worries.

When it comes down to what will steer Malik toward a school he’s got a few major goals that will have to be met…

“Academics, a school that can help me get to the next level and help me with my decision on and off the court as a man” -Newman on what he’s looking for in a school

His strengths:

“Scoring, playmaking, and leading a team to victory…”-Newman

What he likes about schools that are recruiting him:

“I like how they all play hard and how they play through their guards”

Newman on what Coaches are telling him:

“That I’m a one and done player and if I play to the best of my ability I could bring a few players along with me”
