Jerrell Jackson “Man on a Mission”

Jerrell Jackson

2014 ATH
All-District MVP Offense
1st team ALL-District DB
1st Team All-State ATH

Scouting Report

Jackson has the combination of size and physicality to press in man coverage.  Jackson has good hips and is fluid in his backpedal.

While Jackson is not a burner, he has deceptive speed.  He has the range and the recovery speed to play either corner or safety at the next level.

At 6’1 ½, Jackson has the frame to add 20 pounds of bulk.  Add that with a 95 standing reach, Jackson’s versatility and athleticism makes him a must-have prospect.

Jackson’s only weakness may be his lack in experience against top ranked receivers.  Jackson looked to put those doubts to end by tearing up the camp circuit this spring.  Jackson earned MVP at the VTO Prep 100, and was also one of the top players at the NUC 5 Star.

Jackson is very coachable, and is a proven leader and winner.  He’s been able to handle the pressure of being the starting quarterback of a one of the most winningest high school programs in the country.   (Haynesville has won 15 state titles).

Recruitment and Quotes

Utah and ULL seem the most interested in Jackson’s services. But as of late, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, San Diego State, La Tech and Georgia State have shown interest.

“I really like ULL’s campus. The coaches there really like me too.”

“Utah is a good school; it would be big to have a PAC-12 offer.”

“I loved LSU junior day.  I learned a lot about the program.”

“Louisiana Tech is a favorite too. I’ve been training with La Tech cornerback Ronnie Fields Jr. My Aunt graduated from there, it’s just like home.”

This summer, he’ll camp at Oklahoma State, ULL, La Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Houston, NUC U100 and the D1 Elite Skillz and Drillz camp.

“I have to prove to everyone that I’m just as good as these 5 star guys. I’m camping with a chip on my shoulder.”
