Jaylon Lane commits to Oklahoma State

Nacogdoches (TX) cornerback Jaylon Lane saw his recruitment skyrocket over the last two months, jumping from just three offers at the beginning of March to almost 40 offers in May. But with all the schools on his trail, one stood out above the rest. On Sunday, Lane announced via Twiiter that he plans to take his talents to Stillwater to suit up for Oklahoma State.

With offers from schools in every major conference, there was always something about the Cowboys that Jaylon liked, and that was just enough to seal the deal and send OSU one of the top defensive backs in the nation.

“Before I blew up, those guys still wanted me,” he said. “Not because of my offer list, but because they really felt that I was guy with potential and could help out and make an impact with the team. They were on me from the start and told me I was their guy.”

That relationship with the coaches stuck with Jaylon and was one of the biggest factors contributing to his decision.

“I felt like if I know a place where I wanna go, then why wait?” he said. “Now I can just focus on being a part of that family and getting ready for my senior year.”

When asked about the firmness of his decision, Lane answered with two words that should give all of the Oklahoma State faithful something to be excited about.

“Rock solid.”
