Jashon Cornell Is The Next Star Out Of Cretin-Derham Hall

Cretin-Derham Hall in St.Paul,Minnesota has produced some of the best talent the Midwest has to offer over the years. Chris Weinke, Joe Mauer, Michael Floyd, Seantrel Henderson are just a few alums to come out of the program and on to successful football careers.

Sophomore defensive end/linebacker could be next in line out of Cretin-Derham Hall, and is already be heavily recruited.

“Playing at Cretin-Derham Hall is an honor because of all the athletes it has produced over the years”, Cornell said. “I want to be better than all of those guys and be #1 in the nation”.

Cornell already has offers from Rutgers, Iowa and in state school Minnesota. Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA and California are also hot on his tail.

“My spring break is coming up, so I plan to take a visit to Cal and maybe USC”, Cornell said. “I also plan to 11 attend the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp in June, and the Rivals Camp May 5 in Chicago”.

Cornell attended the Adidas Invitational over the weekend and won MVP honors in the defensive lineman group. He dominated every rep he had, displaying an array of moves each time.

“I did well as the camp, and all the coaches told me how well I did. I won every 1-on-1 battle and also MVP. There’s always room.for improvement, so I could work on my footwork”.

Cornell tallied 52 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles and one field goal block his sophomore year. The production is definitely there for the 6-4, 230-pound Cornell, and should be a blue-chipper in the 2015 class.
