Jarrett LaRubbio Commits To Kentucky

2014 3 Star OL Jarrett LaRubbio has committed to Mark Stoops and the University of Kentucky. Jarrett chose the Wildcats over North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Carolina, Washington, Louisville, Maryland, Georgia Tech, and Arizona State, among other offers. LaRubbio is considered the 16th best Offensive Lineman in the country by Rivals, and known as one of the most physical, overpowering of them all. LaRubbio definitely fits the stereotypical “SEC Eye-Test”, standing in at 6-5, 280 lbs. Vince Marrow was Jarrett’s main recruiter, and obviously proved to be one of the best, yet again. After Jarrett’s commitment, Marrow moved up to #16 in the Coach Recruiting Rankings by 247 Sports. This is Marrow’s 6th commitment in the state of Ohio, which is Marrow’s pipeline state. The University of Kentucky has now moved up to #16 in the Team Recruiting Ranks by Rivals, #22 by 247 Sports, and Top 15 by several others. LaRubbio joins Drew Barker, Mikel Horton, Thaddeus Snodgrass, Kobie Walker, Tymere Dubose, Darryl Long, and Dorian Hendrix for the stellar class.

I spoke to several other Kentucky Football Commits for 2014, and they are all extremely excited to have Jarrett leading the way of the Offensive Line at UK. They say that he is an “absolute monster” and “will definitely become a star” at Kentucky.

What’s next for the Wildcats in terms of commitments? Darius West, a 4 Star Safety, will announce his decision to the public on May 30th at his High School. According to several sources, UK is the leader at this point. I have talked to Mike Edwards and Dorian Hendrix, who both told me that West has told them his choice, but to make it 100% a secret, and for no one to know. They told me that his decision has already been made and just waiting to announce, so any rumors of a “late bloomer” in his recruitment that may sway him away last second are a lie.

If Darius is to choose the Wildcats, along with Jarrett, Kentucky will likely move into the Top 10 nationally for Team Recruit Rankings, a feat many Kentucky fans thought was impossible before Mark Stoops was hired as Head Coach.

Big things coming in the near future, and you will hear them here first at Varsity Preps!
