Hunter Perrin C/O 2014 “A Louisiana Leader”

A Louisiana Leader

When Hahnville was defeated by Parkway last year in the second round of the playoffs, a leader emerged.  Hunter Perrin, the 6’3” 270lb left tackle for Hahnville looks for redemption for the early departure from the 2012 playoffs.  And after recently being named Team Captain, he and his fellow Tigers are ready for the 2013 season.

Hunter currently holds no offers but has garnered lots of attention during his junior year.  Those schools expressing interest are Stephen F. Austin, South Alabama, Tulane, ULL, North Texas, Northern Colorado, Louisiana Tech, Purdue, ULM, North Carolina, Temple, Kent State, McNeese and Holy Cross.  He is in constant contact with South Alabama, Tulane, Stephen F. Austin, Northern Colorado, Temple, Purdue, and Kent State.  Hunter plans on camping at a handful of these schools this summer but hasn’t made any definite plans yet.  He plans to see which schools make a push for his services this spring and then he will sit down with his parents to make his summer schedule.

Until then he plans on keeping himself busy in the weight room.  He hopes to add about 15lbs. so he will play his senior season at 285lbs.  Currently he bench presses 330lbs. and squats 545lbs.  But it isn’t all strength for this offensive tackle, he has also run a 5.1 in the 40.  He also excels in the classroom, boasting a 3.6 GPA while being named the 43rd best player in the state by Dandy Don.  When he graduates he will be a 4 year Letterman, making 2nd team All-District after his sophomore year and 1st team All-District after his junior year.

He plays left tackle at Hahnville but says that he can play any position on the offensive line.  Hunter says that he feels that his strengths are his run blocking and his quickness off of the ball.  But his coaches really like his pass blocking and often use him to show proper footwork and technique.

The river parishes of Louisiana are known to produce talented prospects.  Hunter Perrin continues this tradition and hopes the 2013 football season will be a memorable on for the Hahnville Tigers.
