QB Tyler Harris Looking for More

Getting your first offer is always one of the most exciting days in the life of a high school athlete with next level dreams.  The first offer is always special to that young man and makes him realize that his dreams of playing football at the next level will indeed come true.  Getting two from the best conference in the nation on back to back days is a sign that you have a special athlete.

That’s exactly what happened with Pierce County High School quarterback Tyler Harris.  Harris received his first offer from Alabama and the very next day the Mississippi State Bulldogs decided they would like to offer as well.  Harris was very happy to see that his dreams of playing football at its highest level would come true.  Now he is working on getting more exposure and developing his game so he will be one of the top quarterbacks in the country.

Next season should be a very good season for Harris and his high school teammates.  With several key pieces back on both sides of the ball, Harris feels like this could be a year to remember for himself and his teammates.

“We have the potential to win the state championship this coming season,” said Harris.  “We return all but three starters on the offensive side of the ball.  We should also have a very solid defense next season as well.  I think we can go as far as we let ourselves go next season.  I am really excited about my senior season.”

Harris knows to accomplish this goal, he has to get better at his game as well.  He is working on the things he needs to work on to be successful.

“I am going to the school every day an hour early to work on my footwork drills with my coach,” he said. “Then I work out at the school for an hour and a half.  After school, I will do speed and agility training for two hours each day as well.”

Landing a Mississippi State offer was a big thing for Harris. He plans on taking the whole experience in and try to find that perfect fit for himself.

“Getting the Mississippi State offer was huge for me,” he said. “I had been offered by Alabama the day before and then Mississippi State offered the next day, getting the Mississippi State offer made it that much better for me. They are definitely at the top right now because they believed in me early and offered me early. That meant a lot to me. I want to visit and learn more about the program and the school. I don’t have a solid date yet though. I will try to make it this summer.”
