Gulliver Prep (FL) Recruiting Blitz

Varsity Preps takes a look at Gulliver Prep (FL), a program that will send several prospects to the next level.

2015 Watch List MLB Dominic Sheppard (6’2, 226, 4.6, pictured above) currently holds offers from Miami, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, West Virginia, and Cincinnati. The Alabama Crimson Tide are also showing strong interest. “I camped at Bama and impressed the coaches. The defensive coordinator said he likes me and thinks I’ll be offered.”

Bama’s in-state rival, the Auburn Tigers, have already offered him. “Auburn wants me to play Star, which is a hybrid safety/outside linebacker position in their defense. They like me because of my speed and ability to make plays in space. I like how they want to move me around.”

Staying in the SEC, the Tennessee Volunteers have also taken notice of Sheppard. “After we finished camp, they offered.”

The Vols left an impression on the highly coveted linebacker. “I learned a lot of new techniques and fundamentals from the coaches. I like their new facilities and the thought of playing in front of 102,000 screaming fans. I might be a little nervous my first time, but I’m sure I’d get used to it.”

Sheppard holds a verbal offer from the hometown Hurricanes. “The University of Miami likes me. Linebacker coach Micheal Barrow wants to work with me,” he said. “I like the Hurricanes a lot, they were my first offer and I always dreamed of playing at Miami.”

A player that he watches on Saturdays is UM middle linebacker Denzel Perryman. “We play the same position, so I just try to copy some of the things he does on the field.”

Another ACC program has put Sheppard on their wish list. “Clemson has a great program. I really like it over there.”

Gulliver Prep’s talented junior recorded 90 total tackles and five sacks last season. He mentioned what he feels his strengths are. “I can run, get to the ball, and make the play.”
