Getting to know 2015 RB Trai Sharp

Trai Sharp RB from Carrboro, NC- Carrboro High School  5’10, 185 lbs runs a 4.48 40 yard dash

Scouting Report

Excells at: Sharp has one of the nastiest spin moves I have seen for a 2015 prospect. He doesn’t lose speed when making his cuts. Great vision, has the ability to set up his blockers, which is rare for a young back. He is more than capable of being a great receiver out of the backfield because he possesses great hands.

Needs to work on: He runs a bit flat footed which works in high school, but will not at the next level. His pass protection skills also need some work, he tries to block the defensive end high which does not work to great at his size.

Overall Trai is an outstanding back who is looking to break school and conference records this year so be on the look out and remember this name. I got the chance to speak with Trai and get a feel for how his recruitment and football season is going.

Q: What did you work on this off-season to improve your game?

A: Quick thinking by being able to read my blocks. Also endurance, being able to play the whole game and not feel the need to come out because I’m tired.

Q: What about your game sets you apart from others?

A: My ability to read the blockers, breaking tackles up the gut, and being able to then bounce it outside.

Q: Which NFL player does your game most resemble?

A: Reggie Bush because we both use our speed and juke moves in a similar manner.

Q: What are your personal and your team goals this season?

A: Team goal is to win our conference, we moved to tougher competition this year, also to win state. My personal goal would be to finish All State in district 2A. I was selected as a preseason candidate and to rush for 2500 yards and more then 38 total TDs.

Q: Which programs are recruiting you?

A: Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Indiana, North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, Michigan, and Notre Dame
