Extra Wind for Golden Tornado

It is no doubt the Haynesville football program is constantly becoming a household name.

Over the years, Haynesville has become known as the Franklin Dynasty with Alton “Red” Franklin taking Haynesville to great heights and now his son David is keeping the pace.

Although David Franklin has become quite successful on the field, he has also found success in developing student-athletes.

With some of Franklin’s student-athletes moving on to play on the next level, such as Kendrick Jackson (Arkansas) and James Jackson (Louisiana Tech,) Franklin has another Tor to add to the Golden Tornado.

Since the peewee league days, L.J. Jackson, Jr. has been playing football for Haynesville.

As the 2015 campaign edges near, the 6’1, 290-pound Jackson will suit up as #72 and will be filling the T/DT positions for Haynesville.

Currently Jackson’s vitals are 5.9 on the 40, 5.82 shuttle, 300-pound bench and 415-pound squat.

Over the past season Jackson has been making a presence on the field, which helped earn him an Honorable Mention in district.

Despite Jackson’s hard work on the field, he also contains a 3.4 GPA, plays baseball and participates in track and field.

Stepping into his junior year, Jackson has started to receive letters from Oklahoma State and Arizona.

Jackson has yet to receive any offers, but he knows hard work will eventually pay off.

“I work hard and compete to be the best I can be,” Jackson said. “I have the attitude, work ethic and drive to play.”

When asked about Jackson’s personality, it can be said that he “pushes the ones around him to their highest performance.”
