Elite 101 in Florida | Class of 2014 | 51-75

After witnessing camps, multiple 7-on-7 practices and events, and watching games and practices last fall, I’ve arrived at this Top 101 list for Florida. After compiling an initial Elite 75 last spring, there was absolutely too much talent to keep the list at 75. Even at 101 prospects, there are still quality players out there that will make a difference for their teams on the next level.

To save you the trouble, I’ve shown the change from the initial Elite 75 lists. Key: NR = not ranked from previous list, UC = unchanged in ranking from previous list, +/- to show increased or decreased ranking from previous list. I’ve also linked the highlight film (if available) on the prospect’s school name.

Here’s #101 – #76

75. OG/DT Montel McBride | 6’4, 332  Plant City  Another interior force in Florida. Offers from AlabamaAuburnKentucky, and FSU. Committed to the Crimson Tide today. (NR)

74. CB Stepheny Durham | 5’10, 177  Atlantic Coast  Solid corner verbally committed to Georgia Tech. He’s good in man coverage. (NR)

73. CB Cornelius Floyd | 6’0, 170  Gulliver Prep  Physical corner with good instincts. Isn’t afraid to tackle. Offers from ArkansasPittsburghUCFWake Forest and West Virginia. (UC)

72. ATH Jacob McCrary | 6’0, 182  Coral Reef   Versatile player with an impressive list: AlabamaFloridaGeorgiaOle MissClemsonFSUNotre Dame, and Ohio St., but chose the Mountaineers of West Virginia last month. (-17)

71. OLB Vincent Jackson | 6’3, 245  Tampa Jesuit  Has outstanding size, solid all around player. Offers from AlabamaUSCOhio St.Texas A&MOklahomaNotre Dame and Miami among numerous others. (NR)

70. RB Brandon Powell | 5’9, 170  Deerfield Beach  Tough, athletic, and fast playmaker committed to Tennessee. Terror on the perimeter. Of all the small backs in Florida, there’s a valid argument as to why he may be the best among them. (NR)

69. CB Nigel Bethel II | 5’8, 170  Booker T. Washington  Outstanding athleticism and ball skills, plays bigger than his size. Very good at finding the ball in the air and coming down with interceptions against bigger receivers. FSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Utah have offered, but the Miami Hurricanes appear to be the leader currently. (NR)

68. DE Rashawn Shaw | 6’3, 235  Ft. Pierce Central  Speed rusher committed to Louisville. (-42)

67. OG Josh Allen | 6’3, 285  University Christian  Allen is a one-man wrecking crew. Excellent downfield blocker, nasty lineman committed to North Carolina. (NR)

66. CB Deion Hallmon | 5’11, 175  Cypress Bay  Very good cover corner, displays good body positioning when shadowing his receiver. Gets his hands on the ball quite often. Too many offers to count, but Syracuse, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Ole Miss seem to be among his leaders. (UC)

65. LB D’Ronjiah Mathews | 6’1, 185  South Ft. Myers  A bit undersized, but should develop into a solid OLB on the next level. Miami, Clemson, UNC, South Carolina, USF, and Arizona think so, too. (-34)

64. WR Steve Ishmael | 6’2, 175  North Miami Beach  Deceptively fast, makes catching the ball in traffic look easy. Underrated receiver with offers from Pittsburgh, Boston College, Syracuse, Mississippi St., Tennessee, and Nebraska. (-22)

63. WR Stanley Clerveaux | 6’3, 185  North Miami  Another vastly underrated pass catcher. Great size and hands, gets off the jam, great leaping ability. Offers don’t match his talent level. Cincinnati, USF, Bowling Green, and Appalachian St. among his offers. (-13)

62. ATH TJ Harrell | 6’1, 210  Tampa Catholic  Harrell is just a football player. He gets the job done, whether at RB or SS. I like him better at strong safety in college. Every program in Florida wants him, including Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Georgia, UCLA, and Michigan St. 34 total offers. (+8)

61. DE Denzel Ware | 6’1, 241  Crestview  Quick end committed to Kentucky. Has a nose for the football. If he were 6’3, we’d be talking Top 20 type player. At 6’1, his projection isn’t as clear on the next level. (NR)

60. CB Mike Johnson | 6′,0 175  Countryside  Athletic corner with good leaping ability and long arms. Looks like FSU leads. (-13)

59. WR/CB JoJo Robinson | 6’0, 175  Miami Northwestern  Explosive playmaker committed to FSU, but the Canes are lurking. (+6)

58. FS John Battle IV | 6’2, 185  Hallandale  Committed to LSU. Physical safety that covers like a corner. (+6)

57. ATH Marquese Dudley-Gordon | 6’1, 190  Cypress Bay Terrific athlete, physical playmaker. Excellent instincts. A coach’s dream. Can’t go wrong with having him on your squad. FSULouisville, Cincinnati, Arkansas, and Wisconsin have offered among many others. (+1)

56. WR Isaiah Ford | 6’2, 174  Trinity Christian  Terrific athlete that also plays basketball. Battles for the ball in the air, good acceleration out of his cuts, uses his hands well. Louisville got a good one. (UC)

55. ATH Jimmy Bayes | 6’3, 197  Immokalee  Impressive athlete. Has the skills to play multiple positions effectively on the next level. Currently committed to USF, but will he stick? Louisville continues to recruit Florida very hard, they aren’t backing down from the Bulls to land Bayes. Hurricanes are a darkhorse. (NR)

54. RB D’Ernest Johnson | 5’11, 189  Immokalee  UNC got a quality back. Immokalee continues to churn out serious FBS talent. (-13)

53. QB Zack Darlington | 6’1, 210  Apopka  Field general with good athleticism, pocket presence, above average arm-strength and good accuracy. Defending state champ QB verbally committed to Nebraska. (-4)

52. OLB Sharieff Rhaheed | 6’3, 207  Ft. Pierce Central  Should develop into a fine OLB on the next level. Great size, has the frame to add good weight. Louisville making a serious push. (-41)

51. B. OL Benjamin Knox | 6’4, 260  Deland  Athletic lineman committed to the Gators. (NR)

51. A. DB Kendall Gant | 6’2, 184  Lake Gibson  Offers from USC, Ohio St., FSU, Florida, and Georgia among others. Has great hips, displays smooth transition from his backpedal. Outstanding prospect. (NR)
