Elite 101 in Florida | Class of 2014 | 26 – 50

After witnessing camps, multiple 7-on-7 practices and events, and watching games and practices last fall, I’ve arrived at this Top 101 list for Florida. After compiling an initial Elite 75 last spring, there was absolutely too much talent to keep the list at 75. Even at 101 prospects, there are still quality players out there that will make a difference for their teams on the next level.

To save you the trouble, I’ve shown the change from the initial Elite 75 lists. Key: NR = not ranked from previous list, UC = unchanged in ranking from previous list, +/- to show increased or decreased ranking from previous list. I’ve also linked the highlight film (if available) on the prospect’s school name

Elite 101, 51 – 75

Elite 101, 76 – 101

50. QB DJ Gillins | 6’3, 185 — Ribault — Big time dual-threat QB that has Wisconsin, Boston College, and Arizona in front. Vanderbilt could be a dark horse. Ideal spread quarterback. Live arm and decent accuracy, shows good touch. Coming back from an ACL tear, but he has all the tools to be a solid college starter. (+7)

49. FS Deion Singleton | 6’2, 165 — Godby — Playmaking safety that covers well. Has a knack for knocking the ball loose. Has the frame to put on a few extra good pounds. USF is the favorite to land him at this point. (-1)

48. FS Quincy Wilson | 6’2, 190 — University School — Hard to argue a kid that has 48 offers not being one of the top players in his class. Ohio St. seems like the likely destination. (+23)

47. DE Blake McClain | 6’3, 265 — Sandalwood — Athletic end committed to FSU. The Seminoles continue to stack talented defensive linemen. (-2)

46. CB JC Jackson | 5’10, 175 — Immokalee — Has the potential to be special on the next level. Not super fast, but elusive and shows good instincts. Verbally committed to Florida. (-9)

45. QB Michael O’Connor | 6’4, 225 — IMG Academy — Transferred from Chattanooga Baylor to IMG. Possesses prototype size, has a great arm and causes problems when he escapes the pocket. Verbally committed to Penn St. (NR)

44. CB Kendall Randolph | 5’10, 175 — Lincoln — Very instinctual player. Georgia, South Carolina, and FSU appear to lead. (+24)

43. MLB Andrew Beck | 6’3, 230 — Plant — Committed to Texas. Will be a physical presence for the Longhorns in the middle. (UC)

42. QB Alin Edouard | 6’2, 185 — Hialeah — Committed to the Hurricanes. Athletic dual-threat QB with great touch, good arm strength, and is dangerous on the move. (-8)

41. WR Moral Stephens | 6’3, 205 — Taylor Co. — Big WR with excellent hands and decent quickness. Impressive offer list: Miami, FSU, Clemson, Ohio St., LSU, and Kentucky among several others. (-13)

40. ATH Quinton Flowers | 5’11, 203 — Miami Jackson — Very talented football player. Is capable of playing multiple positions on offense. If he were 6’2, he’d be recruited nationally at quarterback.  Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi St., Nebraska and USF are among his offers. (+6)

39. FS Michael Johnson | 6’3, 185 — Champagnat Catholic — Currently committed to Louisville, but LSU is making a strong case. Physical safety that excels in coverage and is great in run support. (UC)

38. OG Corey Martinez | 6’4, 290 — Tampa Catholic — Highly thought of interior lineman committed to FSU. (-9)

37. DE Richard Yeargin III | 6’3, 216 — University School — Looks like Notre Dame will pull this athlete to South Bend. (+7)

36. DB Duke Dawson | 5’11, 197 — Dixie Co. — Will probably see time at SS for Florida. (+2)

35. DE Chad Thomas | 6’5, 230 — Booker T. Washington — Improving end who out performed all his peers at “The Opening”, bringing home DL MVP honors. Is a natural end, has a feel for the position. Should continue to blossom on the next level. Miami appears to have the lead currently. (+15)

34. LB Darrion Owens | 6’4, 220 — Oakleaf —  Athletic, physical linebacker committed to the Hurricanes. Saw some time at SS last year, so he’s no stranger to coverage. Punishing tackler. Excellent addition for the Canes defensively. (+2)

33. ATH Charles Nelson | 5’9, 164 — Seabreeze — Electric punt returner. Speedy back that has offers from Miami, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky offers among others. (-18)

32. RB Tony James | 5’9, 175 — Gainesville — Explosive back that bounces off tacklers. Great hands, is a receiving threat coming out of the backfield. Miami, UF, FSU, Ohio St., Oregon, Nebraska, and Ole Miss are among his offers. (NR)

31. ATH Javon Harrison | 6’2, 190 — Kathleen — Outstanding athlete committed to Virginia Tech, invited to “The Opening”. (NR)

30. WR Travis Rudolph | 6’0, 189 — Cardinal Newman — Very athletic wideout invited to “The Opening”. Good change of direction and route running ability, good hands. Gators appear to be the frontrunner. Oregon, Alabama, Clemson, Miami, FSU, and Ohio St. have extended offers also. (+33)

29. CB Chris Lammons | 5’10, 170 — Plantation — Fantastic athlete playing quarterback. Will most likely play corner in college, just needs some reps to become more familiar with the position. Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, UK, Arkansas, Miami, FSU, and Ohio St. have offered. (-5)

28. S Kyle Gibson | 6’0, 180 — Seffner Armwood — Gibson is a very physical safety, not afraid to deliver a punishing blow to ball carriers or receivers. Looks comfortable in man and zone coverages. Terrific safety that will continue to improve on the next level. Vanderbilt has the lead over Miami, Louisville, and Notre Dame. (-7)

27. WR Johnnie Dixon | 5’10, 187 — Dwyer — Speedy receiver with reliable hands. Very good route runner that can create separation off his cuts. Will be an asset in the slot for Miami, Florida, Ohio St., or Alabama. (+26)

26. S Trey Marshall | 5’11, 192 — Columbia — Committed to the Noles  at “The Opening”. Does everything well, will give FSU another talented playmaker in the secondary. (-19)
