Devon Palomino “The Arizona Gunslinger”

Deer Valley High School QB (AZ) Devon Palomino has made a name for himself on the camp circuit. The 6’4,220 Arizona gunslinger has already made trips to the NTFC, Under Amour All- American and the Rivals Camp Series this year alone. With trips already planned for the Elite 11 and numerous college camps, expect the offers to roll in for Palomino.

“I like being able to see the other talent out there. I love being able to compete against other top players.”

Palomino hopes all of the exposure from camps and events translate in to scholarship offers. The 2014 QB has yet to receive that first offer, but he expects it to come soon.

“I feel like I’m close to an offer. Coaches are telling me they like my film, and want to see me live and see my games this upcoming season.”

So far, Palomino has heard from North Dakota State, San Diego State, University of Idaho, UCLA, Oklahoma State, NAU and Arizona State. So far, his favorites are UCLA, ASU and San Diego State.

Palomino had a solid junior season in which he threw for 2,478 yards with 18 TDS, while also chipping in 441 yards rushing. Look for a strong senior campaign from the signal-caller as he seeks to improve those numbers by working on his footwork and coverage recognition.

Palomino is a prospect that many evaluators consider to have a great upside. He possesses all the mechanics necessary to excel at the quarterback position. He is a quarterback who always puts his receivers in the best position to make a catch. Palomino’s only knock may be his foot speed, but he’s talented enough to overcome lack of football speed if placed in an offense that fits his skill set.
