Denzel Ware Re-Commits To Kentucky
- Updated: June 10, 2013
2014 4 Star Defensive End Denzel Ware has confirmed his commitment to the University of Kentucky….again. Originally committed to UK on February 12, 2013, Ware decommitted on April 9, likely to commit to the University of Florida. After confusion of a committable offer from Florida, Ware held off on any major decision. After a great visit for UK’s Football Camp, Denzel Ware decided his best fit was with the Kentucky Wildcats, and re-committed. Denzel said after that he was done with the recruiting process and this was his last stop. Signing Day is a long way away, but for Denzel to go round two with the Wildcats means a ton, and obviously decreases the chances of any change of heart.
Why is Denzel’s commitment so large to the Kentucky Wildcats? Ware is considered one of the top prospects in the country, ranking #45 overall, and the #5 DE in the country in the 247 Rankings. Denzel is considered an animal on defense, and a huge Senior season could mean an even further push in the recruiting ranks. At one point, Denzel was considered a 5 Star Prospect, and this could happen yet again in the near future.
This is the 12th commit for the 2014 Recruiting Class, following commitments from JUCO Stars Shyquawn Pullium and Ryan Flannigan last week. This pushes UK into the Top 15 in all major recruiting rankings, the highest in the history for Kentucky.
Not only is Denzel Ware’s commitment huge, but what comes with his commitment means a ton, also. Ware is highly connected with 3 Star Linebacker Tavise Stoudamire, and even some say they are a package deal. Of course, this means that a commitment from Tavise is extremely likely in the near future, possibly tomorrow. Ware also has deep connections in Alabama and Florida, so look for other highly rated prospects out of those areas to follow in his footsteps and commit to Kentucky.
As you can see, UK has gotten a big player on their hands, and more are on their way. Be prepared for more updates as they come our way.
