Louisiana isn’t known for producing many quality quarterbacks, but 2016 could prove to be the year of the quarterback in the Pelican State. In part 4 of this series we will be providing an in-depth examination of Darius Brooks, one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2016.

Brooks is a small, but tough quarterback with outstanding intangibles. Displays outstanding field vision, and quickly locates the open receiver. Very good at selling ball fakes.

Possesses a quick release.

Lacks pocket stature, but makes up for it by making good decisions and being a good passer on the move.

Good at making plays with his legs.

Great touch on the deeps ball.

Accurate and puts the ball out in front of receivers, letting them run to the throw.

With starting quarterback Will Haines injured, the Buccs turned to Darius Brooks. Brooks, who was the starter on the Buccs JV squad showed great leadership and play making ability

Can escape the rush, improvises when things break down, and makes a lot of athletic plays on the field.

Brooks is the type of athlete that could play receiver or cornerback if asked.
