Dallas Jeanty, 2016 LB, Ft. Lauderdale High

Ft. Lauderdale High 2016 LB Dallas Jeanty currently reports offers from Penn and Yale, but there are several major programs taking a hard look at the Broward County linebacker.

Louisville has expressed interest in recruiting me. I’ve spoken to a few of their coaches recently. NC State, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, and Navy have also come by school to talk to my coach and get information on me.”

The Razorbacks were expressing the most interest before Randy Shannon left for Gainesville.

“I met Coach Shannon before he took the job at Florida, and the Navy staff I’ve had the pleasure of meeting before, too.”

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound defender said that Yale is recruiting him the hardest right now.

“The staff told me that they really like what I bring to the table athletically, that my grades are where they need to be. We speak about once a week and the staff wants me to visit next semester. I really feel comfortable with Yale’s staff.

“After that, I’d say NC State, Arkansas, and Navy are showing me a lot of attention. NC State is coming at me pretty hard and they want me to visit as soon as I can make it up there.”

Jeanty has positioned himself to be an early enrollee for the program that wants him the most.

“I’m in line to graduate early and participate in spring practice for the school choose. It’s the best option.”

This summer, Jeanty would like to visit the schools that are recruiting him.

“Hopefully after spring pratice I can make some of those trips. I know I’ll be visiting Yale, and I’d like to see NC State, Louisville, and Florida Atlantic.”

Also planned this summer is a round of college camps in hopes of increasing his visibility to college recruiters.

“When my final semester starts, I want to sit down and be able to decide which schools are in the picture and make decisions then.”

Jeanty shared he doesn’t have a leader at the moment.

“I’m just trying to see what other opportunities might come my way before I narrow anything down or name a leader.”

However, if the Stanford Cardinal or the Naval Academy pulls through with an offer, those two schools will be difficult to overcome.

“Those offers would make my decision very difficult. We’ll see what the future holds.”
