Curtis Brunson Earns First Offer From Toledo

Farmington, (Mich.) 2014 cornerback Curtis Brunson entered the Adidas Invitational with no offers, and minimal interest from schools. Brunson showed out at the camp, earning MVP honors of the DB group. Brunson’s name got spread around quickly and coaches raved about his performance.

Early Thursday afternoon, the 5-10, 165-pound Brunson was offered by Toledo. His first offer came just four days after he beat out elite DB’s Damon Webb, Jalen Embry, and Donovan Clark for MVP.

“I was in class, and my phone kept on ringing, but I was trying to pay attention”, Brunson said.” It continued to ring, so I went in the hall to answer it.  It was my coach telling me Toledo had just offered me.”

Brunson is taking a visit to Toledo today, as well as Bowling Green. With Toledo pulling the string first, interest in him should continue to grow.

“Indiana, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Old Dominion have also contacted me. I plan on visiting Western Michigan, but I am not sure when.”

“I haven’t heard from Michigan State or Michigan yet but I hope too. Especially Michigan State, because my family are big fans of the Spartans.”

Max Ex is Brunson’s 7-on-7 team and it has some of the Midwest’s best talent on it’s roster. “Max Ex has helped me out a lot, getting me better and gaining exposure.”

“I play on the same team as Damon Webb and Jalen Embry, and I train with them everyday. I know that I am just as good as them.”
