C/O 2015 QB Jayru Campbell “The Field General”

Jayru Campbell of Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Mich has become a household name in the Motor City. The 6’3, 185 pound  field-general led his team to a second straight state title this past season.  Campbell’s performances on the field have earned him offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan and Michigan State.  The young Campbell has only begun to scratch the surface of his potential, look for his offer sheet  pile up even more as the summer evaluation period begins.

Campbell holds offers from National Champions, Alabama, and it’s BCS title game opponent, Notre Dame.

“Nick Saban, Bobby Williams and the rest of the Alabama recruiters all like my arm. Nick Saban said I had a really strong arm and he likes that about me. Notre Dame likes my arm as well and just how I got a feel for the game. A lot of schools tell me I need to work on my footwork and elevate my game as much as possible.”

Campbell told Varsity Preps that  LSU , Oregon, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan and  UCLA are all showing interest.

“I really do not have any favorites right now. “I would like to go to a school where not only can I get a good education, but a school with a winning tradition, that sends quarterbacks to the next level. And a school I feel comfortable with, a school where the coaching staff is really cool, and just somewhere where I can really see myself fitting in.”

Campbell has recently taken trips to Michigan and Michigan State.

“I do not have any more trips planned, but  I definitely want to go somewhere that i have never experienced. A lot of people tell me UCLA has a good campus, and that LA is really nice. I’ve never been to California. Not only do I like the school, but I’d like to go experience  different things”

Holding offers already from Alabama, Notre Dame and Michigan State, and heavy interest from UCLA, LSU, Florida, and Miami; look for Jayru’s recruitment to go to the wire.

“I always wanted to do the hat thing at the Under Armour game or Army All-American game, so hopefully I can do that”
