Calif. RB Croney gets first offer from Colorado State

Colorado State assistant head coach Tim Skipper stopped by Garces (Bakersfield, Calif.) to extend to class of 2015 running back Sheldon Croney his first scholarship offer.

The Rams came out to Garces last spring to check out Croney and kept constant contact with him.

“I am very humble and blessed to have my first scholarship offer from Colorado State, but I have to keep getting better,” Croney said. “No stopping.”

Croney’s uncle Joey Porter starred for the Rams in the late 90s, before a 13-year career in the NFL.

Croney has already taken an unofficial visit to BYU and plans to take some more unofficials to Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona.

Utah State, Boise State, Iowa, Yale and Harvard are also showing interest in Croney at this point.
