Brian Sanders is Detroit Cass Tech’s Next Star D1 Lineman

This past National Signing Day, Detroit Cass Tech sent 12 prospects off to numerous D1 and D2 programs including MichiganMichigan State and North Carolina State.

A program like Cass Tech doesn’t rebuild, they simply reload. Fresh off a second straight state title, the Technicians return eight players with Division 1 offers. Five in their junior class and three in their sophomore class.

The latest prospect to receive an offer from Cass Tech is junior defensive end Brian Sanders. Playing in the shadow of so many D1 prospects may bother some, but Sanders has embraced it.

“It was an advantage, because it gave me the opportunity to sit back and learn from them,” said Sanders. “When it’s my turn to shine I will know what to do.”

The 6-4, 240-pound Sanders received his first offer from Bowling Green earlier this year and has interest from other MAC schools. “I have gotten interest from Ohio, Ball State, and Indiana,” Sanders said.

“I’m supposed to be going to Ball State on March 30, and I’m going to Bowling Green for their spring practices,” said Sanders.

Sanders will upon this year heavily on Cass Tech’s defense if they want to three-peat. “Going up against offensive line guys like David Dawson (Michigan) and Dennis Finley (Michigan State) everyday really helped my game and made me better,” said Sanders.
