Former Avon (IN) OL DeAndre Herron shares his Top3 with Indiana Preps

Not too long ago DeAndre Herron was considered one of the top high school offensive lineman in the Midwest for the class of 2012. Herron landed several offers before deciding on commiting to Coach Strong and the Louisville Cardinals. However, the big time recruit never made it on campus and enrolled at Iowa Western Community College. While at the junior college, Herron never fell off most college coaches big board. After a successful season at IWCC that ended with a NJCAA National Championship, Herron found himself being offered by more of the same schools that sought after him in high school. The 6’6 350 coveted tackle has narrowed his list to 3 schools, where he plans to lend his services for the next 3 years. His top 3 schools are Ball State, Lousiville and Indiana and not in any particular order. The Cards kept in contact wth Herron during his short stint in Iowa and maintained a Strong relationship with the tackle “pun intended.” However, Herron says he likes the 3 programs equally and plans to make his decision in June. He still plans to make one last trip to Cincinnati on June 1. He says playing time, education and family will be the determining factor on decision day.
