Aeris Williams Lands New Offer

There is very little doubt, that one of the top running backs in the state of Mississippi for the class of 2014 is West Point tailback Aeris Williams.  Anyone who has watched the talented play maker can attest to the unreal talent that he possesses on the gridiron.  Now schools from across the country are seeing the talent that will make Williams not only one of the top backs in the Magnolia State, but also in the entire country.

Williams has always had two schools near the top of his recruiting board.  Now a third team has thrown their hat in the ring and hopes to get the attention of one of the top 5 players in the Magnolia State.

“When Florida State called the other night, I was not expecting them to offer me, ” said Williams.  “I am going to take a look at them.  Maybe go down and visit or something.  I was kind of happy that they offered because it meant other schools across the country was looking at the player that I can be.

“Alabama is a school that I just like.

“Mississippi State is like home to me.  I feel like I fit in very good over there.  I have ex-teammates and a lot of friends over there.  I went to the last junior day and I really liked everything as usual.  I love the fact that the football team has their own weight room.  I just love Mississippi State because it feels like home to me.”

Williams has also started to prepare for his senior season on the gridiron.  Having a cousin going through the recruiting process as well is big for Williams, because it gives him someone to rely on and talk about things with.

“One of the key areas that I am working on right now is my leadership skills,” he said.  “We have to make sure that everyone stays focused and that we all play together next year.  We have to keep on working very hard and make sure that we do all we can to be the best we can be.  Ladarius (Gallion) is my cousin and we talk all the time.  If we can play together that is cool and if we don’t that is cool too.  We just want to work hard for each other.  We will always talk and be close but we are working hard to make sure we both get the best for ourselves.”
