He talked about the offer from Akron.

“I really don’t know much about them, but the coaches like my athleticism, elusiveness, and how I play both sides of the ball,” he said. “I’m planning on taking an unofficial visit during the season.”

The other three offers are from in-state programs and Sands spoke about each.

FIU has been recruiting me since the 9th grade and they’re showing me a lot of attention.

FAU has a good program, are building and getting better. I like their coaching staff.

“I’ve been talking to USF and coach Telly Lockette ever since the camp in Miramar. They offered after the camp and I’ll be visiting USF during the season,” he shared. “I like USF a lot and I really like Coach Lockette.”

Sands reported to Varsity Preps that the Seminoles have been in constant contact with him.

“Coach Tim Brewster and Coach Sal Sunseri have been talking to me, they both want me as a corner.”

The Razorbacks have also shown strong interest in Southwest Miami’s talented athlete.

“Coach Randy Shannon came down here for the spring game,” he said. “I really like how he runs his defense.”

Sands stated he remains wide open and is awaiting more offers, but already has a pair of Florida programs in the lead.

“I like USF and FSU right now.”
