2015 Spotlight: Kahlil Haughton

One of the top defensive backs in Texas for 2015 will be Kahlil Haughton, a 6-2, 180-pound safety, from Waco, TX (Midway)  has one  BCS offer on the table and is hopeful that more are on the way.

Haughton received his first offer from Oregon State this spring.

“I was surprised about the Oregon State offer; I hadn’t had any previous contact with them.  I don’t know much about Oregon State, but they seem to have a pretty good program. “

So far, Haughton has received interest from Arkansas, Iowa State and Houston.

“I don’t have any favorites right now, but I would really like to hear from LSU, Louisiana Lafayette, Baylor, Oregon and Miss State.  They are all really good programs; I could see myself playing at those schools.”

The rising junior quickly made a name for himself on the camp circuit this summer. Haughton camped at TCU, Texas A&M, Baylor and the Rivals Underclassmen 250.

Haughton has set some lofty goals for the upcoming season.

“I would like to lead my team in tackles and interceptions. Hopefully I’ll make All-District and All-State, and we’ll win a state championship.”
