2015 Louisiana CB Receives Early Offers

Louisiana recruit, Deshawn Raymond brings a new level of competitiveness to the 2015 prospects class.

The 6-foot-1 175 lbs. cornerback has a 40-yard dash time of 4.6 with 80 tackles and four deflections in the 2012 season.

He’s received offers from University of Louisiana – Lafayette, McNeese State University and University of Houston. Raymond is also seeing interest from Florida State, Colorado State, Southern Miss., Kentucky, Cincinnati and Mississippi State.

Although he doesn’t have a favorite school right now, his dream school is Louisiana State University. He’s hoping to attend their camp this summer.

“I’m excited about the LSU camp because they recruit a lot of wide receivers and I just can’t wait to test my skills against them,” he said.

His family has always been big LSU fans and he said being close to home “would be nice.”

Other camps he’s interested in attending this summer are Florida State and Southern Miss.

Both the coaching staff and academics are very important when choosing a school for Raymond.

“Academics play a big role in the college I choose,” he said.

Growing up in football shaped Raymond’s competitive side and made him into a standout player.

“I’ve always loved football,” he said. “I love to compete against others.”

Although he has these early offers, Raymond said he “will not make an early verbal commitment.”
