#2 OL in Arizona (2015) Jake Grant Receiving PAC-12 Interest

2015 OL Jake Grant (6’4, 265) of Horizon High in Arizona was named the #5 overall recruit (#2 OL) in the state for 2015 by the Arizona Republic. The talented big man doesn’t claim any verbal offers yet, but said “Arizona St., ArizonaColorado, Colorado St.TCU, Michigan, Northwestern, Auburn, and Virginia are recruiting me.”

Grant told Varsity Preps that the Arizona St. Sun Devils are recruiting him the hardest currently. “I took two unofficial visits there last season, I went to the spring game, and I’m in frequent contact with Offensive Coordinator Mike Norvell and OL Coach Chris Thomsen. I spoke to the Special Teams Coordinator Joe Lorig, he was the first coach to come and speak to me personally. I was excited about that.”

Horizon’s sophomore standout has a busy summer ahead. “In May, I’ll be attending the Nike Camp in the Bay Area, and I know I’ll camp at Arizona, Arizona St., and Northern Arizona. I’m still figuring out which other camps to attend, but I’m considering USC, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, TCU, UCLA, Michigan, and maybe a few others.”

During this offseason, Grant concentrated on making himself a better overall lineman. “I’ve focused on improving my agility, speed, and footwork. I’ve also been hitting the weights pretty hard and getting my strength numbers up. I’ve been doing everything I can to improve myself as a football player,” he said. “I’m ready to keep working.”
