2014 Wide Receiver Jesse Jackson Talks Offers

It didn’t take long for other SEC schools to realize that Mississippi State was correct, Petal 2014 wide receiver Jesse Jackson did indeed need to be offered a scholarship.  After Mississippi State pulled the trigger on an offer, Ole Miss and Alabama decided that it was the smart thing to do as well.  So did those two offers make an impact on Jackson?

Jackson’s latest offer came from the Ole Miss Rebels.  Landing another SEC offer was a very good thing for Jackson and he was happy to receive it.  Where do the Rebels stand with Jackson right now?

“I mean, the offer makes me feel good as a person, but I am not real big on Ole Miss to be honest,” said Jackson.  “I think I am going to go up there on the 13th just to look around and check out the campus and stuff.  But to be honest, I get mail everyday from Mississippi State and they show love every day, so Ole Miss has a lot of ground to make up.”

Recently, Jackson made a trip over to Tuscaloosa to check out the Alabama football program.  He left with an offer and that was a good feeling for the talented play maker.

“It means a lot to me that Alabama offered me,” he said.  “It means I am a big target in the recruiting world for them to offer.  They want me to come back over there and work out as a wide receiver to see what I can do this summer.”

Jackson’s first offer came from Mississippi State.  He has been to Starkville several times and has a good bond with the Mississippi State coaches.

“Junior day at Mississippi State was awesome,” he said.  “I am making a trip up there on the 5th to meet Coach Billy Gonzales the first time.  He talked to me on the phone and told me what he is looking for in a receiver.  I also talked to Coach Townsend, the DB coach as well.  Mississippi State is number one on my list, even with the Alabama offer.  It means a lot to me for me to be that high on their recruiting board.

“I think I may wait and make my final decision after my senior season.  If I have an idea of where I want to go before then, I will sit down and talk to my parents and let them know I have a decision.  But right now, I have been thinking a lot about it and I will probably wait until after the season is over.”
