2014 OL Brad Lundblade Hearing from Big XII Programs

2014 OL Brad Lundblade (6’3, 290) of Liberty Christian School in Texas is an Army All-American Combine lineman with offers from North Texas and most recently Tulsa.

He updated Varsity Preps on the latest in his recruitment. “I received my second offer from Tulsa last week, was pretty excited about that. I visited Oklahoma last week and I recently attended Junior Days at Baylor and Kansas St., both of which went very well.”

He spoke about his Tulsa visit on which we was offered by the Golden Hurricane. “I attended an early practice. We got to see how they run practices and drills. After practice, I visited with the recruiting coordinator for a while and then we took a tour of campus,” Lundblade said. “I was visiting with the OL Coach Denver Johnson and he offered me. I then spoke with OC Greg Peterson and he reiterated that Tulsa wants me to be a part of their program.”

Baylor, Oklahoma St., Kansas, Kansas St., North Carolina, Stanford, and LSU are recruiting him.

Lunblade recently talked to UNC OL Coach Chris Kapilovic and said the Tar Heels are showing him a lot of interest. “He was saying they really want me to camp this summer before they offer. We’ve had a lot of dialogue the last few weeks.”

He reports he enjoyed his time on Baylor’s campus when he got a closer look at the Bear’s program on a recent Junior Day. “It’s definitely one of my top schools and I’m planning on going back later this spring to watch practice.”

Staying in the Big XII, Liberty Christian’s standout lineman saw the Cowboys and Wildcats up close. “Oklahoma St. invited me to their spring game, am definitely excited about that. I also attended Junior Day at Kansas St. last month. I had never been to Manhattan before and I really enjoyed myself. It’s a place I could see myself for four years.”

He’ll attend the NFTC in Dallas April 7th and then be in Stillwater for the Cowboys spring game April 20th, and North Carolina and Stanford will receive camp visits this summer.

Lundblade said no frontrunners  have emerged yet. “It’s still early, no favorites. I only have two offers. I’m trying to be patient and see what else develops,” he said. “I’m still trying to figure out who’s interested and make plans accordingly.”

He’ll make a decision after he’s convinced he’s found the right fit. “I don’t have any timetable. I’ll make my choice when I feel I’ve found a home. If it happens early, that’s great, but I have no problem waiting it out a little longer. I’m not a fan of decommitting, I want make sure I’ve made the right choice and stick by it.”
