Varsity Preps

2014 LB/DE Jamie Jacobs

2014 DE/LB Jamie Jacobs (6’4, 220, 4.5) of Midway High School in Waco, Texas owns offers from Baylor and Oregon State.  After a stellar junior season, followed by a strong performance at the Rivals/Under Armour Camp, the freakish athlete has caught the attention of many college coaches.

Jacobs told Varsity Preps “I’m hearing from Baylor, Oklahoma, Rice, Houston, Tulsa, DukeOregon State and lots of other schools.”

School location will be one of the determining factors in choosing his school. “I would like to stay in Texas or the bordering states.”

Jacobs plans to take his time with the recruiting process. “I’m not sure when I will commit. I definitely want to take my five officials. I’ll make my decision when I know the school is a good fit for me and when the time is right.”

The junior standout said his favorites are  Baylor, Oklahoma, Rice, LSU, Texas and TCU. Baylor and Oklahoma are standing out to Jacobs currently. “They have the nicest facilities and it doesn’t hurt that they’re in the Big 12.”

Midway’s star defensive end will showcase his talents at a pair of events this offseason. “I will be going to the 5 Star Elite Showcase in Duncanville, TX this weekend, and I’m going to try to attend the three-day camp in July at LSU.”
