2014 CB Jarviel Hart Named Co-MVP at VTO Sports Prep 100 in Tampa

2014 CB Jarviel Hart (5’10, 160, 4.5) of Avon Park High in Florida brought home Co-MVP honors after standing out at the VTO Sports Prep 100 in Tampa on Sunday. “It was a great experience, there were lots of good athletes that competed, and I think I performed well. Quarterbacks Kilton Anderson (Naples) and Chris Riddle (Sandalwood), linebackers Jaboree Williams (Ft. Lauderdale) and Tre Watson (Tampa Catholic) attended. I was impressed with the competition out there.”

Hart earned an invitation to the NFL Prep 100 held in Cleveland, Ohio. “I’m excited about getting invited, but I have a lot of work still to do and I’m on a mission to continue to work hard and earn some offers.”

He reports that Florida Atlantic, USF, Mississippi St., MTSU, Ball St., MarshallNC State, and Nebraska are showing interest. “One of the Marshall coaches told me he saw my film and liked it, that he’ll contact me.”

USF, Mississippi St., MTSU, NC State, and Nebraska will receive camp visits from Hart this summer. “Those are the camps I have planned so far, but it can change if other programs start showing interest.”

Hart’s been hard at work turning himself into an elite player. “I’ve been in the weight room so I can be more physical and I’m working hard to increase my speed. I’ve also focused on watching more film and becoming a better leader.”

The junior corner doesn’t claim any offers currently, but listed Mississippi St., Nebraska, MTSU, and Marshall as early favorites. “I like the Bulldogs because they compete in the SEC, they play five DBs a lot, and they do a good job of sending players to the NFL.

Nebraska has a good program. I think I can work hard and get some playing time there, and it seems like a good fit for me.

MTSU and Marshall are places I think I can compete for early playing time, and I like the coaching staffs at both programs.”

Hart has plans to have a verbal commitment in place by the end of summer. “I want to have that decision made so I can focus on my senior season.”
