2014 CB Cornelius Floyd Speaks with Varsity Preps

2014 CB Cornelius Floyd (6’0, 165, 4.49) of Gulliver Prep in Florida is seeing his recruitment take off. He’s been extended three scholarship offers; West Virginia, and most recently by Appalachian St. and Bowling Green. He’s also been contacted by Ole MissBoston College, Michigan St., USF, FIU, and FSU.

An Under Armour All-American combine participant, Floyd talked about his offseason plans with Varsity Preps. “I’ve been invited to Junior Days at Auburn and Ole Miss,” he said. “I’m planning on getting out to camps at Miami and FSU, and I want to go back to Florida.”

He’s also on the Strong Arm 7-on-7 squad and he spoke about the benefits of playing 7-on-7 football. “Competing against the top players in the state will make me a better corner. I expect my technique and overall game to improve by competing against the best players in the area.”

Boasting a 3.0 GPA, Floyd discussed what he’s seeking from a college program. “Education is my number one priority. I’m all about being a student athlete and preparing myself for life after football. I’d like to get the chance to play early, but to be honest, I’m interested in any school that has a football program that’s interested in me.”

Currently, he says Ole Miss and West Virginia are recruiting him the hardest, but Floyd is in no rush to make a verbal commitment. “I think I’ll make my choice in January after I take all my visits.”
